The Metal Forming Division of voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation (RFC) is expanding its production capacity at its Jeffersonville, Indiana facility to meet growing demand in the North American market. This expansion follows the signing of long-term agreements with two leading global truck manufacturers, underscoring the division’s commitment to delivering advanced solutions to key industries like automotive, construction, and solar.

RFC will add more than 161,000 square feet of production space to ensure the necessary production capacity for the manufacture of high-quality structural components for Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks. Production capacity will be doubled to 80,000 tons, with production scheduled to start in 2026.

“For many years, voestalpine has been a prominent figure in Europe for rollforming complex special tubes and sections for the commercial vehicle sector. By bringing this production expertise to North America, we will invest in our RFC facilities, expand our global manufacturing network, and produce high-quality products close to our customers. The current major orders provide the basis for this expansion and show the strong trust our customers have in our technologies. We are effectively following our customer-focused approach in key markets,” shared Kevin Dierking, RFC President and CEO.

Investment creates new jobs
In addition to the new hall, the $78 million investment also includes the purchase of new equipment and will create 110 new jobs. Just recently, voestalpine also opened a new production hall in Shelbyville, Kentucky, which also specializes in manufacturing customized tube and section components.
